Need for Implants

Highly Trained Dental Professionals

Dental implants are a popular and effective tooth replacement solution designed to seamlessly blend in with your other teeth. They offer an excellent long-term option for restoring your smile through the implants procedure.

Teeth play a vital role in an individual's overall health and social life. Losing teeth significantly impacts the quality of life, affecting basic aspects such as nutrition and taste. Moreover, the loss of teeth leads to rapid degeneration of the remaining bone.

A person's social life is also greatly affected by the absence of teeth. While a beautiful smile boosts your confidence, lacking it can diminish that self-assurance.

DENTAL IMPLANTS TREATMENT

There are various methods to replace the lost teeth.

In the case of a single tooth loss, bridges can be used for effective tooth replacement. When more than one tooth is missing, removable partial dentures can also be an option. For those who have lost all their teeth, complete dentures can be provided, which may include an implants procedure for added stability.

Advantages of Implants

Implants are the most natural-looking and stable replacements for lost teeth, making them an excellent choice in the tooth replacement category. No clasps or visible attachments are required, and there’s no need for cutting down adjacent natural teeth. Since implants share the functional load during chewing, they help maintain the health of other teeth. The implants procedure is also ideal for preserving the health of the remaining bone after tooth loss. Unlike removable partial dentures or complete dentures, they do not shift or slip. You can achieve nearly the same shade as a natural tooth, providing a long-term solution.

With all these benefits, implants stand out as nearly ideal solutions for issues related to tooth loss, ultimately enhancing your confidence and restoring your smile.

Types of Dental Implants

Root Form: These screw-shaped implants resemble tooth roots in form and are commonly used in the implants procedure when sufficient depth of bone is present. Plate Form: These implants are wider in shape and are specifically designed for tooth replacement in cases of narrow bone. Subperiosteal: These implants are placed just beneath the gums and are utilized in the implants procedure for patients with advanced resorption of bone.

Procedure

The implants procedure involves minimal discomfort for the patient. An oral surgeon or implantologist administers anesthesia and then makes an incision to expose the bone. The implant is positioned within the bone, and the incision is subsequently stitched back together.

Following this, a healing period of approximately 3 to 6 months is necessary. During this time, a process called 'osseointegration' occurs, allowing bone cells to adapt around the implant material.

Once the healing period concludes, a crown is placed over the implant, completing the tooth replacement process.

Bone Grafts for Implants

Implants can be placed even if the remaining bone is reduced in length and width. In such cases, the implants procedure may require an additional step known as bone grafting to ensure proper support for tooth replacement.
